It was only last year that the world witnessed the spectacle which was the wedding of Prince Harry with Meghan Markle. The gorgeous former American actress Meghan, who has now officially retired to assume her position as the Duchess of Sussex in the British royal family, is now expecting the youngest member of the royal family sometime in April of this year.
However, she is still not taking a rest from her official duties, as according to recent reports, the Duchess, along with her husband the Duke of Sussex, would be traveling all the way to Morocco on an official visit. Their tour has been scheduled from the 23rd of February and will continue on till the 25th of February, and in those two days, the two royals are expected to engage in a number of activities.
The Duchess is expected to be around 30 weeks pregnant when she makes this visit, which is not as unsafe as it sounds. In fact, as per NHS, airlines usually allow pregnant women to travel in their aircraft as long as they are less than 37 weeks pregnant.
The Tour From Hell?
Morocco is not the most favorite country in the royal household, that’s for sure. The Queen visited the country around 40 years ago, and apparently, her visit did not proceed as planned. The monarch of Morocco in power at that time was King Hassan the Second, and if the words of Robert Hardman, a biographer of the royal family, are to be believed, then there was a solid justification for the King’s behavior.
The King had been subject to a number of assassination attempts prior to the Queen’s visit, and so he kept ordering a change in the Queen’s schedule in an attempt to remain cautious.
According to reported anecdotes, there was even a time when the Queen was made to sit all alone out in the sun as the King remained absent. When it came to changing the Queen’s schedule, the British monarch insisted on proceeding as planned in an effort to honor the public’s expectations from her.
Even after going through this ordeal, the Queen returned from Morocco and was all praise for the King. In fact, she also wrote a letter of thanks to the King for the hospitality she had received in Morocco from him. Hopefully, Meghan and Harry would have a similar experience.
Remaining Fashionable
Meghan has been carrying her baby bump in the most elegant manner. Recently, the Duke and Duchess graced the Endeavor Fund Awards held in London, where Meghan wore a gorgeous Givenchy dress and combined it with spectacular pumps from the one and only Aquazzura.
According to the Daily Mail, the pair were very jubilant when it came to discussing their upcoming child, with Harry pointing out the bump to some fellow guests and Meghan declaring how she believed Harry would make an excellent father.
All this is happening amidst the recent media drama surrounding Meghan’s relationship with her family back home in the US. Meghan wrote an open letter to her father expressing her sadness over his wrongful remarks against her in the media.
According to close friends of the Duchess who contributed to an article published in People Magazine, the former actress suffered from great emotional trauma due to her American family’s actions. They also expressed their worry about the unborn child which Meghan is carrying, stating that such emotional strain could not be healthy for the baby.
Meghan’s drama with her family comes in addition to the discussion which has been happening on social media, both in her favor and against her. Many have trusted the statements released by her family from time to time, which has obviously contributed to the stress the Duchess of Sussex is facing.
The fact that the Duchess is performing her duties amidst all this is commendable, to say the least. For now, we just can’t wait to see what she wears on this tour.
