Kelly Maria Ripa, who is an American actress, a talk show host, a producer, and also a dancer, lives by the rule that since life is short, one must enjoy their food to the fullest regardless of its impact on one’s health.
In an interview, Ripa revealed that she would never be able to follow the current trend of subscribing to a keto diet.
For those of you who are unaware, a keto diet is one which involves foods that are high in fat and low in carbs.
The diet uses fats for the purpose of providing the body with the necessary energy, a job that is otherwise done by carbohydrates, and this switch is said to cause considerable weight loss.
The Keto Husband
When Kelly says that she can’t follow the keto diet, she does not come from a place of ignorance. In fact, she seems to know a lot about it since her husband is currently on a keto diet.
Her husband, Mark Consuelos, is a Spanish American actor who is best known as Hiram Lodge on the hit TV show Riverdale, and also as Mateo Santos on the show All My Children.
According to Kelly, Mark is following the keto diet religiously, and looking at him she has realized that she really does not have the discipline to follow in his footsteps.
She further revealed a rather cute quirk of the couple. Since Kelly is the one who eats carbs, while mark avoids it altogether, so she always eats the bun and the fries in case Mark ever orders a burger.
According to her, since she works out, all the burger, fries, and other carbs are justified for consumption at least under her diet rules.
What is Kelly’s Diet?
In an interview, Kelly revealed that she is generally not a supporter of fad diets but she does not like keto in particular.
She works out and has really strong coffee before she goes on her talk show called Live with Kelly and Ryan. The actress likes to have dried fruits and nuts as snacks. Furthermore, she likes peanut butter and high protein bars.
Her favorite late night snack is peanut butter and jelly sandwich. However, Kelly tries to make that sandwich as healthy as she can firstly by just having a half of it, and secondly, she uses ciabatta bread with crunchy peanut butter, or sometimes she uses honey peanut butter, with either raspberry or strawberry jam.
Dark Roast Coffee
Coffee is another very significant part of her diet, and the bulletproof coffee is the favorite type of coffee of a keto dieter. Even though she is not a fan of the keto diet but, according to her, she loves the coffee.
She likes to make it the darkest roast coffee ever possible and then adds one spoon of organic ghee, then tops it off with two espresso shots.
Kelly revealed that since she does not eat anything before her show, the coffee fills her up and gives her all the energy she needs to carry on the show.
